IDT has introduced the industry's first synchronous Mobile Multimedia Interconnect (M{sup}2|), fully optimized for multimedia applications in high-end mobile handsets and personal digital assistant devices. M{sup}2| performs up to six times faster with ninety percent less battery drain than previous-generation interfaces. High-end handset users can reliably play back high-quality multimedia with minimal impact to their "talk time" and battery life. For handset suppliers, M{sup}2| enables the processor to support additional differentiating functionality such as Bluetooth, WiFi and global positioning systems (GPS).
