Old Lawn hat-trick sets new standards

A NUMBER of egg quality doubles have been achieved over the years by producers who have won the 'outstanding quality' award twice, but Old Lawn Farm (Dorset Fresh Eggs) is the first to score a quality hat-trick. The men in charge, Bill Richards and Lindsey West, won their first two 'outstanding quality' awards with a 110,000-bird cage operation in 1993 and 1994. This year the EU cage Directive has bitten into available cage space and effectively reduced flock numbers to 100,000-birds.
