Traders not happy with VAT

IT is learnt that a month after the government issued a white paper on the value added tax (VAT),traders released their own white paper and said the proposed provisions would adversely affect trade,industry and the common man.Releasing the paper,Parveen Khandelwal,secretary general of the confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) ,said a detailed study of the government's white paper revealed that the present form of VAT would certainly lead to inflation.
