Studies on properties of Nylon-6 fibre reinforced HDPE

摘要

NYLON-6 fibre was blended with HDPE using a two roll milling machine.Sheets were made by using a compression moulding machine.The sheets were cut into strips and then machined using a countour cutter for making test specimens as per ASTM Standards.The Nylon-6 fibre reinforced HDPE has shown better impact strength along with tensile strength,Flexural strength & Hardness.Also the heat deflection temperature was increased.But,the water absorption is higher Et electrical insulation properties were lowered slightly.It was observed that as the fibre length increases the impact strength also increases.The compatibilizer (MAn grafted HDPE) increases the impact strength of the Nylon-6 fibre reinforced HDPE.
