A summary of just some of the papers presented at the annual symposium held in Sydney, Australia. The layer-type brooding chickens were housed in a hot air cage brooding house and the mean bodyweight of layer chicks given chilled water was significantly greater than hatch mates given unchilled water. The mean dressed weight and feed consumption of broiler chicks given chilled water for three weeks was also significantly greatly than those of chicks in the same environment given unchilled water.
