摘要

A contest between substitution and addition in the reaction of 1,1'-bis[formylisothiocyanate]ferrocene with aliphatic secondary amines was observed. All the compounds were characterized by IR, H-1 NMR, cyclic voltammetry and elemental analyses. Single crystal X-ray diffraction measurement revealed that there is a novel kind of intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the title compound (methyl substituents). The distance between N(1) and O(2) is 2.876 Angstrom, and the angle N(1)-H(1)... O(2) is 177.7 degrees. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. [References: 5]
