According to a report more than 70 percent of people surveyed in the European Union support a ban on plastic bags. The survey was done to explore options to reduce the use of plastic bags and how to improve the requirements of biodegradability under EU law. According to a release more than 15,500 responses were gathered by the European Commission, which represents the general interest of the EU and proposes, implements and enforces legislation.
