The collection rate for rigid plastic packaging from UK households has risen to 44% this year, compared with 37% in 2014, thanks to increased recycling of plastic pots, tubs and trays, according to plastics waste management and recycling specialist Recoup (Peterborough / UK; www.recoup.org). In its latest poll, it said the collection rate for pots, tubs and trays rose from 21% to 30%, but the collection rate for plastic bottles fell from 58% to 57%.
