Engineering Recyclate May 2014: Marked upward trend / Initial rises at the lower end of the range

In May, the secondary market for engineering thermoplastics in Europe felt the first impact of the rising prices on the primary markets and the relevant feedstocks. Numerous regrind products-including those based on ABS, polyamide 6 and polycarbonate-have now started to climb. In most cases, secondary producers were able at least to eliminate particularly low price levels. Notations for rPA 6.6 and rPP compounds, however, remained stable-at least for the time being. Prices of POM regrind, on the other hand, fell victim to the extremely cheap imports of standard grades of virgin POM material.
