Plastics industry suffers from shrinking domestic demand / Packaging industry is one bright spot

The Greek financial crisis has been making headlines for about two years, but the country's economy has been in decline for far longer than that. Now, as austerity schemes strangle domestic demand and - parallel to this - manufacturers' access to credit grows more and more difficult, the country's chemical and plastic sectors are suffering. The packaging industry appears to be the lone bright spot, although except for a handful of export-oriented producers it is not exactly bedded on roses, either.
