Players on the western European commodity plastics market are facing a dramatic summer.Buyers find themselves caught between falling feedstock prices in Q3 for ethylene and propylene and announcements by producers of price hikes of up to EUR 100/t for PE and PP and of EUR 50/t for PVC before the end of July.At the same time,the roller coaster ride for styrene monomer (SM)-and consequently also for styrenic polymers-continues unabated,driven by the benzene price.
