Nampak Plastics Europe (Newport Pagnell / UK; www. eu.plastics.nampak.com) is making a multi-million GBP investment in a reprocessing plant that will make it the UK's first true closed loop plastic packaging recycler. The plant will recycle 13,000 t/y of food-grade HDPE that Nampak will then incorporate into its production of milk bottles at levels of up to 30%. The exact location of the plant has yet to be decided, but Nampak expects it to be in the north east of England. It will be supplied by waste management companies with domestic waste and is planned to be operational by the end of 2008.
