Following Fire,State Environment Officials Suspend Storage at Hazardous Waste Facility

RALEIGH,N.C.-The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources has suspended waste storage at a hazardous waste management facility in Apex that recently was the scene of a fire,a department representative told BNA Oct.25.According to Cathy Akroyd,spokeswoman for DENR's Division of Waste Management,the ban on hazardous waste storage at the facility owned by Wayne,Mich.-based Environmental Quality Co.is indefinite.
