Argentina's PP demand seen rising 6% in 2006,driven by exports

Buenos Aires-Demand for Argentine polypropylene is expected to rise 6% this year compared with 2005,driven by greater consumption of bags,bottle tops and pipes at home and in neighboring markets,an industry insider said March 28.Exports to Brazil and Chile are driving demand higher,said an executive at a leading PP producer,adding that other growing markets are Bolivia,Ecuador and Peru.PP demand fell 6.2% to 235,965mt in 2005 from 251,631mt the year before,according to the Argentine Plastics Industry Chamber.
