European PET producers stand firm on CP despite PX price fall

London-European polyethylene terephthalate makers said they will stand by their commitment to hike prices in January despite a steep fall in feedstock paraxylene costs. Led by Eastman Chemical Co in early December, the majority of European PET suppliers have put their weight behind increases in excess of Euro 120/mt from Jan 1 despite initial PX contracts being settled at a decrease of Euro 142/mt.
