Scrap rallies again after long Turkish absence

After five weeks of almost no buying,the Turkish scrap import market burstback into life in the second week ofJune. Trade levels varied, with a spreadof $21/mt, but most deals for HMS1&2 80:20 were reported around the$230/mt CFR mark. Looking ahead,market participants were positive andexpected trading activity to remainhealthy over the next month as Turkishmills need to rebuild inventories. As aresult, scrap suppliers were trying theirluck and attempting to push up priceswith high offers.
