High-Clarity Antiblock And Clarifier for PE Film

Two new proprietary additive concentrates are aimed at production of high-clarity PE films. Available from Ingenia Polymers Corp., Houston, they are IP1092 high-clarity antiblock and IP1810 PE clarifier. Both are heavy-metal-free and formulated to comply with CONEG and FDA regulations. The antiblocking effect of IP 1092 is said to be permanent, because the anti-block particles are bound within the polymer matrix. It also maintains lower film haze than other antiblocking agents. LDPE blown film tests show that IP1092 outperforms Ingenia's workhorse IP1091 in both antiblocking effectiveness (40 g vs. 68 g blocking force) and haze (11% vs. 15%).
