Simple Roll Unloader Saves Back Strain

A manual roll unloader recently developed by Brampton Engineering Inc.,Brampton,Ont,consists of a post anchored ot the floor in front of the winder with a clamp to hold one end of the air shaft while the winder's own hoist supports the roll's weight.When the air shaft is released,an operator slides the roll off the shaft onto a forklift,puts the new core on,and uses the hoist to reload the shaft into the winder.
