The new Brabender Basic Line from C.W. Brabender, S. Hackensack. N.J., is based on a 16-mm twin-screw extruder for basic laboratory-scale formulation development within a small footprint. The system combines adaptability of processing lengths with easy cleaning and handling via a segmented clamshell barrel and segmented screws. It can produce samples using only a small amount (100 g) of raw material. In the near future, 18- and 25-mm sizes will also be available.
