Yangquan Coal gets higher 2009 prices from chemicals companies

Shanxi Guoyang New Energy Co., a listed subsidiary of Shanxi Yangquan Coal Group, said it has concluded an annual coal supply deal with Yangquan Coal’s chemicals subsidiaries for 2009 at higher prices than in 2008. Guoyang New Energy will supply 1.67 million mt of quality lump coal to the companies at Yuan 772/mt ($112.70/mt) in 2009, reflecting a 2.1% increase on this year’s prices, according to a company statement December 27.
