China's domestic prices stable; Bohai Coal Price Index slightly down

China's domestic thermal coal prices stabilized with a downward bias in the week ended March 9, following slight drops in the previous three weeks, according to weekly price monitors at Qinhuangdao Port. FOB prices of 5,500 kcal/kg Shanxi coal at Qinhuangdao Port stabilized at a range of Yuan 765-775/mt ($116.60-118.10/mt, including the 17% VAT) during the past week. Similarly, FOB prices of Shanxi coal with a heating value of 5,800-6,000 kcal/kg stabilized in the range of Yuan 820-830/mt ($124.96-126.50/mt). FOB prices for 5,000 kcal/kg Shanxi coal also stabilized in the range of Yuan 670-680/mt ($102.11-103.64/mt).
