Asian prices in the Far East and Southeast Asia remain backwardated, easing $5/mt on the week in line with lower offers and weaker demand for spot cargoes. While demand from the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene remained stable, buyers continued to reply on existing contractual ACN supplies and continued to remain out of the spot market. The acrylic fiber sector had yet to regain its momentum, and the lack of demand was acute enough to cap a possible uptick from firmer main feedstock propylene prices which surged $25/mt on the week at $1,195/mt FOB Korea on August 31. An international trader lowered his offer by $10/mt to $2,030/mt for a for a September-loading/end October-delivery cargo, but end-users remain coy.
