The spot export market saw no offers this week, resulting in little liquidity. One trader said he was able to buy LLDPE at 55 cents/lb FAS Houston. Other traders said they were willing to pay at least a penny/lb higher and could not find an offer. Spot was tight and producers also had a better prices in the domestic market. Traders commented that Formosa, Westlake and LyondellBasell were sold out. There were no offers heard from CP Chem. Dow was also tight on LLDPE and had its domestic customers on allocation based on their historical demand. The company has 5 LLDPE trains on turnaround from September to the beginning of November that tightened supply.
