US export polyvinyl chloride prices were steady for the week, assessed Wednesday at $600-$610/mt FAS Houston, hovering at their lowest levels since May 13, 2009, according to Platts data. Sources said three producers were concluding February exports deals in the $600-$610/ mt FAS Houston, while one was holding out at the $630-$640/mt FAS Houston. Buying interest from overseas buyers was in the $570-$580/ mt FAS Houston, but selling interest at those levels was yet to be found. Sources said February volumes are limited, which prompted the rollover in contracts, despite the downward pressure seen from global markets and weak seasonal demand and declining crude prices, trading sources said.
