The European spot market improved to Eur1,250-1,255/mt ($1,544/mt) FD NWE as trades reported this week were at a higher level. Some converters reported being offered imported product at a lower level but the arrival laycans and tonnage behind such offers was not specified. “I was offered C4 from the Middle East from three sources at Eur1,200-1,220/mt FD NWE level,” a converter said. This was not corroborated by the rest of the market. Most traders were still reluctant to commit to deep sea shipments, as volatile exchange rates and long lead times remained a hurdle.
