US EDC prices were mostly stable on the week as falling prices muted trade activity. Falling ethylene prices have dragged down vinyls prices and pushed buyers to the sidelines, sources said this week. Spot ethylene prices have fallen roughly 56% since being assessed at 72.25 cents/lb in early April. Still those declines were expected to be mitigated somewhat by rising chlorine. US chlorine producers have announced increase of $50-75/st in July. Meanwhile, spot trade was thin this week with no confirmed trades heard.
