Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene prices continued to stand their ground with the CFR China/South East Asia benchmarks holding at $1,820/mt. While a Taiwan producer revised offers up by $20/mt to $1,840/mt CFR China, buying ideas remained fiercely resistant — to as low as $1,800/mt according to a Hong Kong-based distributor. Earlier in the week, South Korean producer Kumho reported selling a 190 mt cargo to a distributor at $1,820/mt for H1 March-delivery. Dearer feedstocks however, continued to erode profit margins further this week. Acrylonitrile, which accounts for 25% of feedstock costs, was assessed at $2,052.50/mt CFR Far East Asia/South East Asia/South Asia on February 2.
