FOB KOREA: The FOB Korea price benchmark was flat Thursday. Two cargoes (1,500 mt each) were reported to be traded at $1,700/mt FOB Korea for October loading but the identity of the buyers was not available. Export activities from China were quiet this week amid a steam cracker outage at Sinopec Qilu, but traders’ buying appetite for spot FOB Korea/Japan cargoes was sluggish due to rising supplies especially from Iran and India. In addition, traders expected the FOB Korea/Japan prices to decline in the coming weeks as a downstream synthetic rubber plant turnaround would likely increase spot quantity especially from South Korea for October loading business.
