Polystyrene demand remained strong this week, trading sources said, helping keep export prices up. Tight styrene supplies, and bullish sentiment in the styrene spot market, also led to some sources talking higher prices for polystyrene in September. The general purpose polystyrene price was assessed at $1,350/mt FAS Houston, flat to last week. The high-impact price maintained a $155/mt premium over the general-purpose price. Sources said the high-impact premium was the result of strong butadiene prices.
