The full 5 cent increase issued for January was not gaining acceptance with customers this week in the US PVC market, said one source. Producers may achieve getting 3 cents of the increase for January, but not the full five. Meanwhile producers were expecting to get the balance of the 5 cent increase in February. If producers achieved 3 cents of the 5 cent hike in January, then producers were expecting a 2 cent increase for February. The only justification for the increase on the table were rising feedstock prices, and not necessarily increased demand. However, one producer was experiencing an increase in orders due to low inventory levels throughout the market.
