Spot propylene prices in Europe eased this week, mainly due to improved supply, as cracker issues, which curbed availability in recent weeks, were resolved. Shell said Wednesday its 900,000 mt/year Moerdijk site in the Netherlands, one of the biggest in Europe, was up and running and the force majeure on propylene and ethylene supply has been lifted. Ineos also lifted the force majeure on propylene out of its 440,000 mt/year Cologne cracker in Germany last week. "The panic is gone," a trader said, adding that the impact of the Moerdijk issue on supply had been "limited" and was not as severe as the industry had expected.
