Polystyrene margins were beginning to look wafer-thin insome cases, as sources said they were seeing prices headtoward Eur1,100/mt FD ($1,514/mt) in parts of southernEurope. One source said that large converters in the regionwere able to pick up material between Eur1,100/ mt andEur1,130/mt FD, which would mean a very small mark-upfor producers on the average styrene monomer Octobercontract price of Eur1,112/mt FD.
