The acrylonitrile market in Europe remained well suppliedthis week despite Ineos’ move to curb output due to slowdemand. Most fiber producers claimed that orders so far inOctober, particularly in southern Europe, were weaker thanexpected as consumers were seen holding back purchasesbecause of rising economic uncertainty. “We’re still runningat 90% of our production capacity. We hope things willchange in H2 of October,” a fiber producer said.
