Polypropylene price assessments went up this week supported by higher Asian offers into Latin America with $20-40/mt price jump for September, Latin resin producers were talking of offer increases if the petroleum price remains stable and the lack of polypropylene offers from US continues. Colombia had stable September offers to Peru over August at $1,940/mt CFR for homo raffia, $1,950/mt CFR for injection, $1,960/mt CFR for film, $2,000/mt CFR for co-polymer and at $2,070/mt CFR for random. "Colombian resin offers are still too high, and we are still waiting for some price reduction. Chile has better offers at the moment, but the availability is very low because the producer is having raw material problems," said a Peruvian buyer. Chilean resin offers to Peru were heard $50-70/mt lower compared to the Colombian offers at $1,870/mt CFR for homo raffia, $1,880/mt CFR for homo injection, $1,950/mt CFR for co-polymer impact.
