NWE chlorine December output up 9.7% on year, caustic stocks fall

London-European chlorine production and capacity utilization rates continue to increase in December versus a year ago, while caustic soda stocks dropped as industry recovery maintained its pace, figures from industry body Euro Chlor showed Wednesday. Chlorine production in the EU countries plus Switzerland and Norway totaled 808,717 mt in December, up 9.7% on December 2009 figure of 737,319 mt, but down from November's revised figure of 836,890 mt.
