EDC: EDC export prices remained stable due to sluggishtrading activity and weak demand in the downstream PVCmarket. The price was assessed on either side of $460/mtFOB USG. However reports of production issues at FormosaPlastics in Taiwan and at Braskem in Brazil, were expected toput some pressure on exports for July shipments, despite thefact that new capacities in the US market were scheduled tostart in the third quarter of the year, sources said. Inproduction, US PVC manufacturer Georgia Gulf Corporationmaintained its force majeure on shipments out of its PVCPlaquemine plant, in Louisiana. Upstream, US spot ethylenewas bearish this week as Flint Hills, Westlake and Dow allbrought crackers back online following planned andunplanned turnarounds.
