Spot prices in Europe rose Eur25/mt, closing Wednesday at Eur1,500-1,505/mt as demand picked up, sources said. European producer and traders claimed that they were able to sell at Eur1,520/mt and above. Import material, however, was still heard at lower levels, with Turkish material heard offered at Eur1,430/mt FD NWE and Mexican material offered at Eur1,470-1,500/mt FD NWE, sources said. Despite fragmented offers, spot transactions consolidated at Eur1,500-1,505/mt mark as volumes for imported cargoes were insignificant, sources said.
