Attention was focused on Asia where prices advanced for thesecond week in a row, buoyed by renewed buying in China.Most traders were trying to defend their offers which wereheard at around Eur1,200-1,260/mt FD NWE for homoinjection, insisting that gains in Asia could be a signal thatthe worst was over for the market. Others however wereskeptical, noting that most consumers remained cautiousand were not prepared to re-stock. “The market is stillvolatile. It’s hard to predict what’s happening,” a trader said.Another trader called the market “messy” given theuncertainty, though he noted some interest emerging forend-August or early September delivery.
