Gains in the European ethylene market were arrested this week as crude plunged on global economic and European debt concerns. ICE Dated Brent was trading at the $108/b level Friday afternoon, down from $116/b levels on Monday. Ethylene inland spot price was up by Eur10/mt Monday on the day at Eur1,010/mt FD NWE, as a spot deal was reported late Friday at Eur1,010/mt FD NWE, 2kt, for August delivery. Both parties confirmed the deal. Prices were stable after that as buyers went to the sidelines. Inland values were assessed at Eur1,010/mt FD NWE Friday, unchanged since Monday and up Eur10/mt on last Friday.
