European acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene producers have nominated increases in the range of Eur80-120/mt ($111- 167/mt). One producer said that although it had announced an increase of Eur150/mt for March it was on target to achieve an average rise of Eur120/mt for general purpose contracts. Composite costs were understood to be on course to rise to around Eur65/mt, given styrene, butadiene and acrylonitrile costs. Propylene was expected to increase by Eur80/mt. "There is very strong demand in March but there is friction in the value chain," a producer said.
