The linear low density polyethylene market edged up slightly this week amid increased market activity, particularly in Southeast and South Asia. The CFR Far East Asia benchmark gained $4/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,419/mt. The Southeast Asian assessment was up $10/mt to $1,450/mt CFR; while in South Asia it ended at $1,450/mt CFR - a $20/mt increase from last week. Market participants were watching the movement in crude oil prices, pushed up by the unrest in Libya.
