Spot acrylonitrile prices held their ground this week as buyers and sellers moved to the sidelines to observe tumbling global markets. Buyers and sellers pegged the market within the $2,250-2,300/mt CIF Med range, unchanged from last week. A producer said Monday that, with feedstocks propylene and ammonia firming up, there was not much room for further price declines. “I don’t think the price will go lower,” he said. Spot propylene prices in Europe however bowed to renewed pressure this week, amid volatile crude and naphtha values.
