Without production gain, Petrobras' 2Q profits flat

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras reported second-quarter profits of Realus3.84-bil (us1.26-bil), up only slightly from Real us3.83-bil in the same quarter last year, as Brazil's subsidized gasoline prices and the devaluing Brazilian currency limited profits. The company, which is producing 1.52-mil b/d of crude in Brazil, also said its earnings have been affected by delays in new platform deliveries, keeping oil production flat despite earlier plans for an accelerated boost in output during the quarter.
