Newfield looks to expand position in UK North Sea

Independent Newfield Exploration,which got a toehold in the UK-North Sea about six months ago by acquiring stakes in a few properties,is now looking to beef up that fledgling position,William Schneider,vice president-international,said last week.Newfield has interests in three UK-North Sea leases in the southern gas basin,Schneider said during a presentation at the "North Sea Acquisition,Divestiture and Development" conference last week.
