Russian Railways signed a cooperation pact and a crude transport agreement Mar 27 with Yukos allowing for deliveries by rail to China building to up to 15-mil mt/year (100,000 b/d) over the next two years. Russian Railways has committed to move 6.4-mil mt of Yukos' crude to China this year,8.5-mil mt in 2005,and up to 15-mil mt in 2006.Similar freight contracts will be agreed in the 2007-2010 period,the company said.Yukos began exporting oil by rail to China in 2000 building supplies to around 4-mil mt of crude to China by rail in 2003.West Siberian oil is carried by pipeline to Angarsk in East Siberia before being loaded onto railway wagons for onward delivery to China.
