China’s central bank added 5 mt to its goldreserves in August, the same as July, PBOCdata showed this week. Total gold holdingsnow stand at 1,833 mt, making it the world’ssixth-largest holder of gold reserves, accordingto the International Monetary Fund,behind the US, Germany, the IMF itself, Italyand France.
