Exelon’s Constellation to buy ConEd unit’s retail power and gas business

Exelon’s Constellation, a competitive retail power and natural gas supplier, announced July 27 a deal for ConEdison Solutions’ retail electricity and natural gas business, and industry observers say the proposal is unlikely to face significant regulatory hurdles. The companies did not disclose the terms of the transaction, which includes services for more than 560,000 commercial, industrial, public sector and residential customers across 12 northeastern, Mid- Atlantic and Midwest states, plus Texas and the District of Columbia.
