Competition in OTC space heats up as CME, ICE plan slew of new products

Chicago's CME Group and Atlanta-based IntercoritinentalExchange are ratcheting up competition in the over-the-counter trading space with the launch of a slew of new energy and credit default swaps products and clearing mechanisms.This week, CME announced its new ConfirmHub, which allows its customers to manage processing of brokered, exchange-traded and bilateral transactions through a single web-based trade confirmation application. CME partnered with energy brokers GFI Group, Amerex, ICAP Energy and Tullet Prebon.
