This method is applicable for the determination of bifenthrin residue in black tea and tea infusion. Bifenthrin is extracted with acetoni-trile: water (2:1, v/v) mixture from the black tea samples. The extract is partitioned with sodium chloride and cleaned up through florisil column. Then it is eluted with ether/hexane mixture. The concentrated residue in the eluate is determined by GC with electron capture detector.
