Principal Secretary to Government oj Tamil Nadu, Environment and Forests Department, at the 56th Annual General Meeting of the Planters' Association of Tamil Nadu, held on 26.09.2009, at Coonoor. Before I proceed, I would like to express my sincerestthanks and gratitude to Mr. Raghavan for his very very kind words about me. I am beholden to him for whatever he has said about me. I think what he has meant is that there is still a silver lining and it is not all that dark. As far as I am concerned, itis almost like revisiting the institution, as was mentioned by Mr. Prashant. That was way back in 1993-94, in a different role and also revisiting the same issues. As they say --- do it now!. What should I do?. Do I run away? Or should I face them?. Well, I am prepared to face them and I think they need examination and also a sincere effort at finding solutions.
